Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By installing, accessing, or using the Vocabitor Chrome extension or website (collectively, "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

2. Use of the Service

Vocabitor grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Service for personal, non-commercial language learning purposes. You may not use the Service in any way that violates applicable laws or regulations.

3. Accounts

You may use basic features of Vocabitor without an account. If you create an account, you are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You must provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration.

You may delete your account at any time from the account settings page. Upon deletion, we will remove your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

4. Subscriptions & Payments

Vocabitor offers a free tier and a paid Pro plan. By subscribing to Pro, you agree to pay the applicable fees. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless cancelled.

• You may cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings.
• Cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing period — you retain Pro access until then.
• We do not issue refunds for partial billing periods except where required by law.
• Prices are subject to change with 30 days' notice to existing subscribers.

All payments are processed by Stripe. By providing payment information, you agree to Stripe's Terms of Service.

5. Intellectual Property

All content, code, design, trademarks, and materials related to Vocabitor are owned by or licensed to us. You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from any part of the Service without our express written permission.

Vocabulary data and word definitions are sourced from publicly available linguistic databases and curated by our team. Example sentences are generated for educational purposes.

6. Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to:

• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the extension
• Use automated scripts to interact with the Service
• Attempt to bypass licensing or authentication mechanisms
• Reproduce or redistribute our vocabulary data commercially
• Use the Service to harass, harm, or deceive others

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses. We expressly disclaim all implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Vocabitor shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, arising from your use of the Service. Our aggregate liability for any claim related to the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

9. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time for violation of these Terms, with or without notice. You may terminate your use of the Service at any time by uninstalling the extension and deleting your account.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall be resolved through binding arbitration, except for claims eligible for small claims court.
